Synopsis:
"A brilliant scientist becomes obsessed
with perfecting a device that can transmit matter from one
location to another. Successful in his initial test, he experiments
with a human guinea pig -- himself. But an ordinary housefly
makes the journey with him, and when they emerge, both creatures
have been extraordinarily changed. This is the chilling story
of a man fighting to retain his humanity, and a desperate

My oppinion:
I remember seeing the remake of The Fly
long ago and I remember loving it then. Since finding out
it was a remake, I always wanted to see the original. When
I found out Vincent
Price starred in it, the urge to see it got even
bigger. My expectations were high, and I wasn't disappointed.
Ok, so the fly man effects wasn't the best I've seen, and
it made me giggle when the doctor revealed his "face",
but I can't say I expected much more either. After all, it's
from the 50's. Also the "ping" sound when he started
the machine sounded like the ping that tells you your microwave
dinner is done. The fly in the spider web at the end was a
really cool and memorable scene though! Not to mention the
voice, it's priceless! The movie had a nice feel to it, and
Price did a great job as always. I think the movie
didn't spend enough time with the fly man character after
the disaster happened though, but on the other hand, the effects
put some restraints on the possibilities.
Anyways, I concider this to be a true classic! highly recommended!
