My oppinion:
This movie impressed me a lot, especially
when it comes to the special effects. Considering it's made
in 1963, it's extremely impressive what they managed to do
with the effects. The giant moving statue and the army of
skeletons (and more) are really stunning. Sam
Raimi might have got some inspiration
from this when he made the skeleton army in "Army
Of Darkness". The acting is decent overall,
and there are some likeable characters. The portrayal of the
gods was especially amusing. The plot on the other hand didn't
impress me that much as it had its mistakes. What's with the
ending? We never get to see if he gets his revenge against
king Pelias and get the throne, which sort of seemed like
the point of the movie in the beginning.. In the end though,
this didn't bother me that much. I enjoyed myself every minute
of this movie. This one you can even watch with the kids.
Highly recommended if you like adventure and/or Greek mythology
movies!
