Synopsis:
"When There's No More Room In Hell,
The Dead Will Walk The Earth.
In 1968, director George
A. Romero brought us Night
of the Living Dead. It became
the definitive horror film of its time. Eleven years later,
he would unleash the most shocking motion picture experience
for all times. As modern society is consumed by zombie carnage,
four desperate survivors barricade themselves inside a shopping
mall to battle the flesh-eating hordes of the undead. This
is the ferocious horror classic, featuring landmark gore effects
by Tom Savini,
that remains one of the most important - and most controversial
- horror films in history. When there's no more room in Hell,
the dead will walk the earth: The original Dawn of the Dead
is back!" - from DVD

My oppinion:
What a classic this is! Might just be the
best horror movie of all times in my humble opinion. Alongside
Peter
Jackson early work, this was one of the first horror
movies I ever saw and it's responsible for my big interest
in this genre. I just can't think of anything I don't like
about this one. Everything is just about perfect. What I like
most about DOTD are the zombies. They are just the way I like
them, moves around slowly and feeding is their only goal,
one is no problem, but loads of them are pure horror! I also
think Romero managed to create likeable characters that I
care for and that is something lacking in many horror movies.
The music is also great and it's fun that Dario
Argento was in charge of that in addition to being
Romero's Script consultant. There are some really memorable
scenes like in the beginning when a police officer goes mental,
killing zombies and people including the famous "exploding
head" scene. The scene with the rednecks drinking beer
and doing some target practice on the zombies is also a great
one! Also seeing the zombies going up the escalator with the
mall music in the background always makes me smile. The facial
expression on one of the zombies is just priceless!
Well, this is a must see movie for all horror enthusiasts.
If you haven't seen it yet, drop what you're doing and go
rent/buy it right away!
