As many others, Brian Clement started out "playing"
with a home video camera. Before releasing his first feature-length
film, which was "Meat Market"
(2000), he did some short films. Naturally, Brian Clement's movies
have all been done on a tiny budget. "Meat Market", "Meat
Market 2" and "Binge
& Purge" have all gotten lots of praise by underground
horror fans. His latest project was "Exhumed"
(2003) which is an historical epic.
My oppinion
Brian clement is a really talented Director. What he manages to
do with the tiny budget's he's got to work with is pretty amazing.
I really do hope he'll get a chance to work with a "big"
budget at some point, as I'm sure the result would've been great!
Considering the cast in his movies mainly consists of friends and
volunteers from his hometown, the acting really isn't too shabby
either, though you can see they are not professional actors. With
Exhumed, Clement moves his directing to a new level. The plot is
way more complicated then in his earlier movies, and he copes with
that in a splendid way.
I just hope we'll see much more of Clement in the future. I also
hope Clement will have the chance to work with a "big"
budget at some point, as I'm sure the result would've been great!
